James Wood

James is an English qualified solicitor and an Associate within the Legal Team at Baker & Partners.

James joined Baker & Partners in January 2024 following his qualification in England and Wales in the same month. He relocated from Leeds, England where he trained at a specialist litigation and commercial law firm. Throughout his training, James worked on a varied range of complex cases across the UK predominantly in the Commercial & Civil Disputes and Regulatory Compliance & Investigations service areas. Most notably, James worked on high-value contractual disputes, complex contract drafting, sanctions advice, Coroner’s inquests and investigations by numerous regulators. James also developed a keen knowledge of insurance and cyber & data protection law through his work.

James completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Edinburgh (Philosophy & Theology) in 2019 before then proceeding to complete his legal studies in Leeds in 2021.
