Lynne Gregory has been admitted as a solicitor of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court for the Territory of the Virgin Islands.
Partner Lynne Gregory’s swearing-in strengthens the firm’s team, presence and commitment to the British Virgin Islands (BVI).
Lynne Gregory is an experienced litigator with varied experience, including working for ‘Magic Circle’ law firm, Allen & Overy and as in-house counsel at a FTSE 250 company. She specialises in fraud and asset recovery, trust disputes, commercial and civil disputes as well as regulatory and insolvency work. She has been a Partner of the firm’s Jersey office since 2021.
Most recently, Lynne has been working on the notorious 1MDB scandal described by the UK Guardian as the world’s biggest crime. Baker & Partners has acted as global counsel to the liquidators of the offshore structure used to launder the proceeds of this vast multi-jurisdictional fraud where some $9 billion were stolen from Malaysia through the purported sovereign wealth fund 1MDB and its sister company SRC.
On admission to the BVI Supreme Court, Lynne commented:
